Standard 2: Instructional Leadership
Principals set high standards for the professional practice of 21st century instruction and assessment that result in a no-nonsense accountable environment. The school executive must be knowledgeable of best instructional and school practices and must use this knowledge to cause the creation of collaborative structures within the school for the design of highly engaging schoolwork for students, the on-going peer review of this work, and the sharing of this work throughout the professional community

During my principal residency I worked closely with the Instructional facilitator and develop a PD session on planning for success where we engage BT teachers to intentionally plan and utilize their resources. This directly impacted instruction because I coached BT teacher through the UBD approach and backwards design planning. This approach allowed teacher to focused on the end and develop strategies to support their students toward their benchmark and standard goals.

During my principal residency I created an Assessment Tracker in which PLC's were able to look at their common assessment results collectively and determine misconceptions and develop interventions to support students needs.

During my Principal Residency at Southern School of Energy and Sustainability I worked closely with the Instructional Facilitator and drafted a plan of action for the testing schedule as student took the PreACT.
During my principal residency at Fayetteville Street Elementary, after reviewing walkthrough data, We created detail content class schedules so that students can utilize their time from bell to bell.
