School executives will ensure that the school is a professional learning community. School executives will ensure that processes and systems are in place that results in the recruitment, induction, support, evaluation, development and retention of a high performing staff. The school executive must engage and empower accomplished teachers in a distributive leadership manner, including support of teachers in day-to-day decisions such as discipline, communication with parents, and protecting teachers from duties that interfere with teaching, and must practice fair and consistent evaluation of teachers. The school executive must engage teachers and other professional staff in conversations to plan their career paths and support district succession planning.

During my principal residency I have several opportunities to facilitate PLC with various grade levels During these PLCs norms were established. We also conducted Kid talks, data digs and intentional action plans.
Element 4b Recruiting, Hiring, Placing and Mentoring of Staff:

During my principal residency I had several opportunities to sit in on interviews. I was also part of the interview committees and facilitate interviews.
During my principal residency I was responsible to meet with representative from Education Resource Group (ERG) that served as a layer of support to provide resources and instructional tips for our teachers .
Element 4c: Teacher and Staff Evaluation The school executive evaluates teachers and other staff in a fair and equitable manner with the focus on improving performance and, thus student achievement.
During my principal residency I had the opportunity to create an observational walk through tool, that is utilized while observing teachers. I collect the general items that is reflective of the school culture, and expectations

During Principal residency to better prepare for testing and performance. The admin staff reviewed teacher performance on EVVAS and conducted conversations on how to deepen their areas of strength and supplement with support their areas of growth.
